Welcome to Brandenburg

Brandenburg

Brandenburg an der Havel

The city of Brandenburg, which has a rich history of more than 1,000 years, gave the state Brandenburg its name. It was one of the first realms governed by the later Prussian kings. In the three-part medieval town center you will find numerous historic sites such as the Brandenburg Dome, several churches, the Old Town Hall as well as the the Pauli monastery which is residence of the National Archaeological Museum. Another special attraction in the Museum of Industry is the last open hearth furnace in Western Europe. But it is not only history that Brandenburg has to offer. The theater with its Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra, the Awning Children's and Youth Art Gallery, the Wredow Drawing School, and other facilities and free artist groups provide a broad cultural life. The Brandenburg University of applied sciences offers excellent study opportunities in the areas of technology, economics and computer science. Surrounded by the beautiful river Havel and several lakes, Brandenburg is a paradise for boaters and water sports enthusiasts.

At Whitsun, Brandenburg will now become a paradise for dancers, too!

Tournament Hall

Stahlpalast

The ETDS will be held in the “Stahlpalast” ("steel palace"), which is part of the Axxon Hotel.

In the former GDR, the Stahlpalast used to be a place for competive sports. In 1974, even some matches from the world championship in handball were played on site. Nowadays, it is still a venue for great matches: there are frequently billiard competitions held, and in 2013 and 2015 the European championship of carambolage was hosted in this venue.

And Whitsun 2016 – here we come! Let’s make some history and show how awesome a dancing tournament can be!

The address is:
Magdeburger Landstraße 228
14770 Brandenburg
