ETDS stands for "European Tournament for Dancing Students" and describes
tournamens which take place twice a year (at whitsun and in autumn). About 450 participiants
come together and compete in latin and ballroom dancing in three breitensport classes and
the "open" class for former breitensport members.
The whole event starts on Friday evening with a blind date party (if you want to dance with
someone else than your usual partner) and ends on Monday morning with the breakfast. During the
event, there are the tournaments, a theme party and a ball with the award ceremony. Usually the

The sleeping location is the Tesla-Oberschule in Berlin-Pankow,
300 m apart of the dance hall.
It is also the check-in location on Friday at 7:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (19:15 - 21:30 Uhr)!

The dance hall is called Seelenbinderhalle and is part of the Velodrom in Berlin-Pankow.
It is also the check-in location on Friday from 10:00 p.m. (22:00 Uhr)

Approach
If you come by bus or car from the north (Hamburg, Kiel, ...)
Drive on the A10/E55 (Ausfahrt 35: Berlin-Zentrum/Berlin-Pankow)
After 7.5 km, continue on the A114.
The A114 turns into B109 after 900 m (Prenzlauer Promenade)
After 4 km, turn left to B96A (Danziger Str.)
After further 2 km, turn left to the Paul-Heyse-Str.
If you come by bus or car from the west or south (Hannover, Aachen, Karlsruhe, Clausthal, ...)
Drive on the A2/E30
At the slip road (in German: "Ausfahrt") 19, continue on the A10/E55 to
Berlin-Zentrum/Potsdam
Next to Potsdam, use the slip road 16 (right lane), follow the direction to Berlin-Zentrum,
Berlin-Zehlendorf, Potsdam-Zentrum. (This is the A115/E51 - the last part is called "AVUS")
After 28 km (you'll see the Funkturm on the left ahead) drive on the left lane, continue on the A100 to Berlin-Schöneberg
Take the slip road to the Innsbrucker Platz
On the Innsbrucker Platz, turn left to the B1 (Hauptstraße).
The Hauptstraße turns into Potsdamer Str., then into Leipziger Str., Gertraudenstr., Mühlendamm,
Grunerstr. and (after the tunnel) Otto-Braun-Str.
At the second big crossway after the tunnel, take the second lane from the right and turn right to the
Street "Am Friedrichshain" and immediately follow the street to the left.
After a big crossway, the street turns to the "Kniprodestr."
Turn right to the Conrad-Blenke-Str.
Turn right to the Paul-Heyse-Str. (3th street)
If you come by train (Hauptbahnhof)...
On platform 15, take the S3, S5, S7 or S75 in eastern direction until Ostkreuz (7 stations)
On Ostkreuz, take the S8 to Blankenburg, the S85 to Waidmannslust or any S42 (anti-clockwise)
after 3 stations, leave at S Landsberger Allee
Use the exit to the "Velodrom"
Take the stairs to the top
Cross the big green area between the two hidden buildings to the west
Cross the car park to the west
Follow the Conrad-Blenke-Str. to the right
Turn left to the Paul-Heyse-Str.
If you come by train (Gesundbrunnen)...
Take any S41 (clockwise) until S Landsberger Allee (4 stations)
Use the exit to the "Velodrom"
Take the stairs to the top
Cross the big green area between the two hidden buildings to the west
Cross the car park to the west
Follow the Conrad-Blenke-Str. to the right
Turn left to the Paul-Heyse-Str.
If you come by plane (Schönefeld)...
Take the S9 until Treptower Park
Than, take the S8 to Blankenburg, the S85 to Waidmannslust or any S42 (anti-clockwise)
after 4 stations, leave at S Landsberger Allee

Local Traffic Tickets & Fares
The main local trafic company is called BVG (www.bvg.de). It is part
of the "Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg" (VBB).
The most interesting ticket for you is the AB-Ticket, which costs 2,10 € and allows you to go by bus,
S-Bahn, U-Bahn and tram within Berlin for up to two hours in one direction or the "Kurzstrecke", which costs 1,20 € and allows to
go 3 stations by railway or up to 6 stations by bus or tram. It is allowed to change, except with the Kurzstrecke in bus or tram. If you buy
your ticket not in a bus, you have to validate it.
